Practice Rides OffRoad 2019

From February to September 2019 we will conduct monthly practice rides. These usually increase in length and/or difficulty as we get closer to the event in October.

A key ride is the Kep Track between Mundaring and Northam.

In 2019 there will again be two options. 

  1. Two days – ride to Northam on Saturday, stay overnight in Northam, ride back on Sunday. Crew and trailer will follow. Sweep rider at back. Luggage transported for you.
  2. One day – bus to Northam and ride back to Mundaring. Ride at your own pace, option to stop at Bakers Hill Pie Shop for lunch. Bus and trailer will follow. Sweep rider at the back. Check in at the end.

Saturday 23 February Heritage Trail Evening Ride (42km) with pizza.

1 possum, 1 snake, 1 puncture, 1 broken chain, 28 riders, 3 catering crew, 22 delicious pizzas, NO moon!

A great night.

March no ride due to OnRoad event
Saturday 6 April Gooseberry Hill to Pickering Brook and return. 27km (22 riders)
Sunday 5 May

 

Darlington, Helena Valley, Mundaring Weir Rd, Kep Track, Heritage Trail, Darlington. (41km)

19 riders undertook an adventure on the wrong side of the river.

Saturday 15 June Mundaring Sculpture Park to Sawyers Valley to North Ledge to Mundaring.  30km + extra 6km to Mount Helena for fast group. (22 riders)
Sunday July 7 Currambine Station to Yanchep and return. 52km. Assemble at carpark near underpass for 8:30 departure. Trains arrive at 8am and 8:23am (please double check).

Mostly limestone track. Coffee break at Yanchep.

Saturday August 3 Farrell Grove Kalamunda Circuit Ride
Ride from Farrell Grove carpark Mundaring Rd Paulls Valley, part of the Kalamunda Offroad Circuit. If coming from Perth via Kalamunda the carpark is
5.3kms after the Camel Farm turnoff and is on your left, note the sign for the carpark comes up quickly. Meet 8am for 8:30 start. The route is 17kms
and will take around 2 hours to complete.Please notify Anthony Whelan if you plan to ride.

August 24/25 Kep Track.

Ride to Northam on Saturday, stay overnight and ride back on Sunday OR catch our bus on Sunday to ride one way from Northam to Mundaring. 74/148km.
